Peter Liechti
(Switzerland)

Peter Liechti (1951-2014) was a swiss director, screenwriter, cinematographer, producer and editor. He studied art history at the Zurich University (1971-1979) and was a graduated art teacher. From 1986, he worked as a freelance screenwriter, cameraman, director producer and as guest lecturer at film schools in Switzerland and Germany. His works are presented in numerous retrospectives around the world. In 2009 received the European Film Award for The Sound Of Insects – Record Of A Mummyand in 2010 received the St. Gallen Culture Award and the Zurich Art Award. In 2014 his film Father’s Garden was honoured with the Swiss Film Award for Best Documentary Film and Best Editing.
