Discover the new Indian filmmakers of tomorrow with this curated program of short works produced as part of the celebrated Creative Documentary Course in New Delhi.
Initiated in 2013, the Creative Documentary Course (SACAC, New Delhi, India) nurtures a re-interpretation of cinematic practice. It interrogates how we engage ethically and aesthetically to our personal, social and political realities.
The pedagogical processes nudge the participants to question monolithic, homogenous and categorical definitions. The Creative Documentary Course works with the belief that all narratives, themes and subjects have been addressed by someone, somewhere, sometime. True originality lies in developing a perspective through observation, research and understanding; making one’s own discoveries in the process.
It's a rigorous journey, as the work of making engages with the politics of representation, encountering and inventing new forms. What understandings occur in the process? What catalyses the movement towards a space that is liberated from formulations and templates? How is this navigated, and how does it transform the expression?
