We decided — for ourselves and our platform — that now is the moment for something else. We cast aside despair and return to visions of optimism and perseverance. After all, what ought to be the essence of this historic period is a willingness to fight for the future we want and the future we need.
And so while communities around the world engage in this very fight for self-determination in increasingly creative ways given the present situation, we celebrate like-minded struggles for justice and communal engagement with this collection of daring, liberated, and questioning works of community power, The Fight Continues. In these films, fight, resistance, and determination take many forms, from humorous to bleakly tragic to uniquely hopeful. These are struggles big and small, far and wide, taking place on disparate continents and enmeshed in the granular particularities of their given regions. But one thing unites these peoples: a knowledge that no matter the setbacks, the fight continues; victory is certain.
