Over the course of the past several decades, Nicolas Wadimoff — who stumbled into filmmaking while touring as a guitarist with his rock band — has switched between fiction and documentary depending quite literally on the need of the subject at hand. The lives of people in Gaza in the wake of an Israeli bombardment. Stowaways on a ship heading for Canada. MMA fighters in the poorest neighbourhoods of Marseille. A radical left-wing cell robbing banks in Switzerland. Just as these people seek out their own forms of resistance, so too does Wadimoff search for the most powerful way to render it on screen.
