Gaëlle Boucand

As an artist and filmmaker, her practice has focused for the past ten years on the making of documentaries in search of new filmic writing. Her films focus on people or communities whose stories, shaped by migration, resonate with particular historical, social and political situations. She has directed, among others, Gone to Croatan (2010), JJA (2012), Change of scenery (2015), JA (2020), Voin (2020) and Voin (2022). Her films have been awarded in FID Marseille, Hors-Pistes and Côté Court, and shown throughout various international film festivals (Cinéma du Réel, Brive, Kasseler DokFest, Live Arts Week Bologna, Sicilia Queer, Xposed Berlin) and art institutions (Paris Museum of Modern Art, Centre Georges Pompidou, Palais de Tokyo, Kunsthalle Mannheim, HKW Berlin, Bethanien Berlin, MAST Bologna, Mambo Bologna, Vilnius Contemporary Art Center, Athens and Thessaloniki Museum of Contemporary Art, etc). She has been teaching at the Superior Institute of Arts and Design in Toulouse since 2014 and co-founded the horizontal production collective Elinka Films in which she produces her own films and those of other artists and filmmakers.
