Ignasi Duarte
(Spain)

Was born in Barcelona, 1976. Drops his studies on philosophy at the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona. In 1996, founded the National Museum of Portable Art (Museo Nacional de Arte Portátil, MNAP), along with two other partners. Simultaneously participates as a visual artist in several collective exhibitions (QUAM-Free Zone, Fundació Joan Miró/ Espai 13, Galeria dels Àngels, Visions de Futur 2000/ La Capella…) and starts his collaboration with Antoni Miralda on the project Food Cultura Museum.

In late 2003, began a professional relationship with the Roger Bernat’s theater director, who made the shows LA LA LA LA LA (2003-04), Amnèsia de fuga (2004), Tot és perfecte (2005), and also the four performances that are part of the series Rimuski (2006). As a playwright, is also involved, among other projects, in the creation, along with Juan Navarro, of the show Fiestas Populares (2005). The experience in the scenic field is, fundamentally, what took him to make his first feature, Montemor (2012).
