Theodora Remundová
(Czech Republic)

Theodora Remundová was born in 1974, her parents are actress Iva Janžurová and director Stanislav Remunda, she is a younger sister of Sabina Remundová.
She graduated from the Department of Documentary Film at the Academy of Performing Arts in Prague (FAMU) where she realized successful school films mostly in cooperation with the Czech Television (A Stop on the Way to the Clouds; Just a Little Bit of Luck; Brothers; Cats). In 2000, she finished her FAMU studies with her graduate film Standard, the first part of the feature-length film project No Regrets/Ničeho nelituji finished in 2003 thanks to the funding of the Czech State Fund for the Support and Development of Czech Cinematography. She received Special Mention at the Karlovy Vary IFF for the film. During her studies at FAMU she also worked as an actress. After her cooperation at several experimental projects (Balconies; Seven Dreams Fulfilled) she started acting in the Na Zábradlí theatre in Prague where she was engaged for some time, also acting in her parents’ plays. Among her most interesting roles are those of Sacha in Chekhov’s Ivanov, the Girl in Muchina’s Tania-Tania, Ilona in Örkény’s Cat's Game, Hanečka in Wispianski’s Wesele or Claire in Tennesse Williams’s A Two Character Play in the Rubín theatre. After cooperating at several school FAMU films at FAMU she also acted in a tv children’s story by Jan Hřebejk Window. She also made her debut in a feature-length film, in the short story Absolute Love by Michaela Pavlátová within the film Prague Stories/Praha očima.... Further on, she created one of the major characters – Jana – in the film Eeny Meeny/Ene bene by Alice Nellis, where she also played with her mother Iva Janžurová. She and her partner, cellist Tomáš Hostička, have two sons: Kajetán and Alfréd.
