Léa Tonnaire

Léa Tonnaire is a translator from Russian to French and a circus teacher living between Ukraine and Belgium. After graduating a BA in Russian philology, she obtains a MA in translation and subtitling in Russian and became a freelance translator and editor. Her subtitling works allows her to keep close contact with cinema, especially with documentary films. Besides her translation works, Léa investigates body movement through her passion for circus arts. In 2018, she made her first feature-length documentary film called It’s night outside which takes place in Kyiv where she filmed close relatives experiencing a period of big change in their life.
