Virginija Vareikytė

Director Virginija Vareikytė is a Lithuanian based filmmaker, whose professional life is tightly connected with Italy. She co-directed her second feature documentary When We Talk About KGB (2016) with Italian filmmaker, her future husband Maxi Dejoie. It was selected to more than 20 international film festivals, was premiered in Trieste Film Festival and was awarded with two special mentions and Junior Jury prize in Italian festivals. At the moment Virginija is working on two feature-length documentaries. I‘ll Stand by You about suicide prevention in Lithuania, co-directed with Maxi Dejoie, which was awarded at the When East Meet West film forum in Trieste, as well as in Bio to B industry event in Bologna. The second project, is an archive documentary Happy Ending which she was selected to present in an MDOCS Forum in Skidmore College (Saratoga, NY). Virginija is an alumnus of workshops such as Ex Oriente, EsoDoc, and IDFAcademy. is powered by Doc Alliance, a creative partnership of 7 key European documentary film festivals.
