Living on welfare payments too small to survive on, in a tiny apartment with no hot water or gas, a single mother has no choice but to give her newborn to an orphanage. Six weeks is an intimate and powerful short that documents a mother’s painful goodbye as her baby, along with so many other babies, awaits its future in a Polish orphanage.
