Kryštof Strejc is a painter, installation artist and filmmaker. He studies at the New Media Studio under the supervision of Vladimír Merta. He has showcased his work in several solo exhibitions.
This audio-visual composition stimulates the senses through its fascinating insight into transient reality. Its collage of images and scenes has no labels or definitions. They stir in the mind only to disappear as soon as they emerge, creating a visual poem on genesis and decay underscored by a raw soundscape.
A dialogue between audio and video reinterprets a scene from the movie The Stranger (1967, dir. Luchino Visconti), in which the condemned debates with a priest about the absurdity of life, death, and the non-existence of God. The debate is abstracted by the skewed image as seen through cut glass and the meanings of their words take on a certain timelessness.
