Nayeem Mahbub
(Bangladesh)

Nayeem Mahbub is a Bangladeshi filmmaker currently based in Stockholm. He was an Erasmus Mundus scholar in the DOCNomads Documentary Directing Master’s Programme (2012-14), getting the opportunity to live and film in several European countries. His films have played in festivals around the world, including DocLisboa and Fantastic Fest. He has worked with BBC Bangla, first as assistant producer of the acclaimed Bangladesh Sanglap programme for radio and TV, and subsequently as producer and co-director of Day in Dhaka (2011), his first documentary. Before documentaries, he worked in the Bangladeshi animation industry, writing and directing the internationally award-winning Murgi Keno Mutant (2011).He received his BA in Cinema Studies from Oberlin College in the USA, and is a scholarship graduate of the innovative Mahindra United World College of India.
