Cristian Soto was born in the south of Chile in Talcahuano in 1980. He grew up seeing the sea and surrounded by hills being looked after his grandparents. It is then when he was exposed to what would mark him in all his future films: getting old. When he was 5 years old he went to Santiago with his parents where he currently lives. He studied cinematography in Duoc UC standing out for his various works which had an important socal character towards getting old. His degree project was called "Pasajero de niebla" (Mist passenger), his first feature film is the documentary called "La Última Estación" (The Last Station).
