Fiona Dalwood
(Australia)

Fiona Dalwood is an artist living in Melbourne, Australia. Having practiced art since she could wield a crayon, Fiona quickly mastered pirate stick figures and dive-bombing birds at an early age, before moving on to study drawing at the Victorian College of the Arts where she graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in 1999. Since then Fiona has exhibited her art work nationally and internationally, has been featured in nice big coffee table books and has even had the amazing opportunity to see her work turned into LEGO street art as part of LEGO’s Festival of Play celebrations in 2012. Her work has been exhibited in places such as Sydney’s Powerhouse Museum, the National Gallery of Victoria and the back streets of Bristol.

Fiona is also known for holding down a diverse range of Big Kid jobs such as being a graphic designer, web developer, book publisher, cartographer, pornographer and many things in between. She finally figured out what she wanted to do when she grew up and at age 32 returned to school to study animation at the VCA. She will complete her Masters of Animation in 2012.

Her short animated films The Comeback and The Batchelor Experience have toured the world and gained recognition at many international festivals, including Istanbul International Animation Festival, FIFO Tahiti, Perth Revelation Film Festival, Los Angeles Underground Film Festival and her hometown favourite the Melbourne International Animation Festival. Fiona plans to make a lot of mess and many more films for years to come.
