Tomáš Polenský
(Czech Republic)

Born on May 26, 1987 in Kutná Hora, Tomáš studied directing at the Film School in Zlín, graduating with his short film Alzheimer’s Labyrinth in 2008. Subsequently, he earned a Master’s degree from Prague’s FAMU – specialising in editing, and producing his own creative projects, focusing especially on documentary film. His graduation film Alzheimer’s Labyrinth was awarded at the Philosophical Film Festival in Krakow 2009 and at Brněnská šestnátka in 2009; his first-year FAMU film Wipe the Rolls was awarded at FAMUfest in 2010 and Young Camera in Uničov in 2011, his bachelor film made at FAMU, The Subterranean River of Didactics, was awarded at FAMUfest in 2012, receiving the jury’s Special Mention at Fresh Film Fest in 2013.
