João Salaviza
(Portugal)

João Salaviza graduated from The National Film and Theater Academy (ESTC) in Portugal, and Universidad del Cine in Buenos Aires. His feature debut, Mountain (2015), had its world premiere at the Venice Film Festival as part of the Critics‘ Week and was subsequently released for commercial distribution in Portugal and France. João Salaviza directed the trilogy of internationally award-winning short films Rafa, Arena and Cerro Negro. A number of his films have been selected for the most prestigous festivals and his work has also been presented at venues such as Centre Pompidou, La Biennale di Venezia of Architecture, Haus der Kulturen der Welt, Belgrade Museum of Contemporary Art and Artium Basque Museum of Contemporary Art.
