Andran Abramjan
(Czech Republic)

Born in Prague (1985). Graduated from the Faculty of Science at Charles University in Prague and documentary filmmaking at FAMU film academy. His films (mostly documentaries) usually deal with scientific or social topics, but they often play with fiction, visual experiments or the poetics of absurdity. A number of them were screened at Ji.hlava International Documentary Film Festival as well as abroad. The documentary essay To Rule, To Work, To Earn, To Pray, To Collapse was awarded Special mention at the Jihlava Documentary Film Festival. The feature film Empire Builders won the Pavel Koutecký Award for documentary debut.
