Marie-Margaux Tsakiri-Scanatovits

Marie-Margaux Tsakiri-Scanatovits was born in 1986 in Greece. She studied in Britain. First at Kingston University London, First Class BA (Hons) Illustration and Animation, in 2005-2008 and then Royal College of Art where she obtained her Master´s degree in animation in 2010. My Mother´s Coat is her graduation film. Her interest in documentary animation has lead her to the use of interviews for the inspiration and creation of all of her films, with the "familial circle" being her main theme of interest and exploration. My Mother's Coat has been shown in various festivals worldwide and won the "Best Film" award by the Estonian Academy of Art jury at Animated Dreams animation festival in Tallinn, Estonia, in 2010. Marie- Margaux is now working as a freelance animator for both commercial and independent film work.
