Kateřina Krusová was born in 1978. She studied international territorial studies at the Faculty of Social Sciences of Charles University and graduated from the Department of Documentary Film of the Film and Television Faculty of the Academy of Performing Arts in Prague. In her graduation film Memory of Snovídky, she captured the memories of her relative Jarmila Kučerová (1906-2002). The vital old woman from a Moravian village tells about her parents, sisters and brothers, struck by World War I. Her depiction of everyday life in the country includes numerous telling details and can be seen as an original contribution to “oral history”. The description of cooking, laundering and wiping the floors recapitulates the everyday toils of our ancestors. The respect for nature is reflected in the final passage about her father who planted trees in 1919 and died.
