Ian Olds

Ian Olds, born and raised in Sebastopol, studied Anthropology & Film Production at the University of California at Santa Cruz and Directing at the Columbia University NY. His most recent documentary, Fixer: The Taking of Ajmal Naqshbandi, won top jury prizes at the Tribeca and Madrid Film Festivals, was acquired by HBO, and was nominated for an Emmy for Outstanding Investigative Journalism. Other credits include the Iraq war documentary Occupation: Dreamland, which was shortlisted for the Academy Award for Best Documentary and won a 2006 Independent Spirit Award. Olds directed the fiction shorts Bomb and Two Men, which have screened at festivals in the U.S. and abroad, the latter winning Best Short at the 2005 Woodstock Film Festival. Olds was the recipient of a 2005 Princess Grace Award.
