Charlotte Zwerin

Charlotte Zwerin was born on August 15, 1931 in Detroit, Michigan. She studied at Wayne State University and established a film society there. After this she moved to New York City where she worked with Albert and David Maysles. Among her notable works with them is Salesman and Gimme Shelter.This work gained them some notoriety due to it filming the stabbing death of Meredith Hunter. She later did work on her own, most notably Thelonious Monk: Straight, No Chaser. She died of lung cancer in 2004. Her last editing project was as Story Consultant on the 2003 documentary film West 47th Street. She was the first wife of jazz trombonist Mike Zwerin. Charlotte Zwerin died on January 22, 2004 in Michigan, Manhattan.
