Antonio Borges Correia was born in 1966. He went to the Higher School of Theater and Cinema (1989–1992). In 1992 he worked as the second Director's Assistant on the film of Manoel de Oliveira “A Caixa”. His short films then appear from 1998 onwards, starting with his first short film “Golpe de Asa”. From 2007 he began to explore the documentary language where the characters represent themselves in a concept of mise-en-abyme. Several of his films based on this concept premiered at several international festivals. His recent film, “A Mulher Sem Corpo” won the award for best film at FantasPorto 2021. To this day, his movies reflect on cinema as a field of experiences about life with a strong humanist component, but above all about cinematic language itself.
