The films of Miso Suchy have been screened at film festivals in the United States, Great Britain, Germany, Italy, France, Poland and Czechoslovakia, where Suchy is originally from. He received an M.F.A. in Documentary Studies from the Academy of Performing Arts (VSMU) in Bratislava, Czechoslovakia. Suchy has presented his work in visiting artist screenings at the International Museum of Photography and Film at George Eastman House, the Yale University School of Art, Hallwalls Contemporary Arts Center in Buffalo, and Cornell Cinema, Cornell University, among others. In 2002 Miso's film I Have Come a Long Way was part of a retrospective of Czech and Slovak documentary cinema organized by the Centre George Pompidou in Paris. Suchy is a recipient of grants and fellowships from the PRO-SLOVAKIA Foundation, the Boston Film & Video Foundation, the PRO-HELVETIA Foundation and the New York Foundation for the Arts. His films are in the collections of the National Center for Cinematography in Slovakia, the Library of Congress, Washington D.C. and the International Museum of Photography and Film at George Eastman House, Rochester, N.Y.
