Diego Acosta Hernández is a Chilean filmmaker whose work explores the poetics of territory and the permeability between the everyday and the extraordinary through narrative and formal experimentation. He has directed the feature film Al amparo del cielo (2021) and the short film Carta a Guni (2025), a free adaptation of the letters of Juan Emar. He is currently developing Metamorphosis of the Same and Santiago Asleep. His films have been screened at international festivals such as FICValdivia, Open City Documentary Festival, Viennale, DOC Buenos Aires, and CPH:DOX. He is a member of Colectivo CEIS8, focused on creation and research in experimental and expanded cinema. He resides in San Sebastián, in the Basque Country, where he completed the Master’s Degree in Creation at Elías Querejeta Zine Eskola.
