Tzeli Hadjidimitriou
(Greece)

Tzeli Hadjidimitriou is an award-winning Greek filmmaker, photographer, and writer, born and raised on the island of Lesvos. After studying cinematography in Rome following seminars with Michelangelo Antonioni, she has been documenting the lives, landscapes, and liminal atmospheres of Lesvos since 1990, giving voice to people living outside the spotlight. Her photographic work has been exhibited internationally and published in ten books, including 39 Coffee Houses and a Barber’s Shop and Sacred Water: The Mineral Springs of Lesvos. Her short films, screened and awarded worldwide, often explore myth, place, and gender, including In Search of Orpheus and Sappho’s Granddaughters. Lesvia is her first feature documentary.
