Omar Alarcón
(Bolivia)

Omar Alarcón (Bolivia, 1986) is a filmmaker and writer. With his first documentary feature Black Sea he won the "Best Director" award at the Eduardo Abaroa National Film Award of Bolivia 2018, and “Best Film” award at “Diablo de Oro” International Film Festival (Bolivia). The film was exhibited in Latin American countries and Europe. His short film Looking at the Mirror was shown in 40 countries receiving first place at Festimaj 2016 (international short film festival in France). He has published a book of his poetry "The Heart Delivers Its Dead" (Bolivia, 2008). His poems were included in the national anthology "Memory without a Mirror, 15 contemporary Bolivian poets" (2018) and in "Climate Change, Panorama of young Bolivian poetry" (Simón I. Patiño Foundation, 2009).
