HUANG Chun-ming
(Taiwan)

HUANG Chun-ming was born in 1935 in Luodong Township, Yilan County, Taiwan. He has been an elementary school teacher, a journalist, an editor, a radio host, an advertisement manager, a filmmaker, and more. His literary works span a range of genres, including essays, modern poetry, plays, and children's literature (illustrated books, children's poetry, and fiction). His writing focuses on ordinary folks in the countryside, marginalised people in cities, and, starting from the 1990s, elderly communities. In recent years, HUANG has dedicated himself to writing and directing Taiwanese operas as well as children's plays. He has won the Presidential Cultural Award and the National Award for Arts for his contribution to Taiwanese literature.
