Rita Ruduša
(Latvia)

Rita Ruduša is a journalist who currently is the Director Of Strategic Development at Latvian Television, she previously worked as the executive director of The Baltic Centre for Media Excellence - a hub for smart journalism in the Baltics, the countries of Eastern Partnership and beyond. Previously she worked at Latvian Television as a commissioning editor for news, current affairs and documentaries. As commissioning editor, she was closely involved in the annual short documentary competition ‘Latvijas kods’. Rita is the author of a book “Underground alienity. Homosexuals in Soviet Latvia” which documents the life stories of homosexuals and transgender people living in the Soviet years. R. Ruduša is also the author of several translations, among others - Vaclav Havel's "Letters to Olga". Rita is co –author and writer of documentary ‘Homo Sovieticus’ directed by Ivo Briedis.
