A film director, her work gravitates around two central themes, Portuguese migrations and women's voices. Her first film works are part of what she calls the Emigration Cycle and deal with fragments of migration through observations, memories, times and archives. In 2023 she completed her first feature film, As Melusinas à margem do rio, where she addresses the fragmented identities of immigrant daughters in Luxembourg. It premiered at Doclisboa and was thrice awarded, with the HBO Max Award for Best Film in the Portuguese Competition, the Fernando Lopes Award for Best First Portuguese Feature Film and the ETIC Schools Award for Best Feature Film in the Portuguese Competition. The film toured several festivals nationwide and had its international premiere at FIDMarseille. In 2023, she is one of the four Portuguese directors chosen to be part of The Factory program of the Directors' Fortnight in Cannes, that aims the emergence of new talent on the international scene by enabling eight newly trained young filmmakers to co-direct a film. A feminist activist, she also develops several investigations and artworks around cinema and women, especially in the Portuguese context. Since 2021 she is part of Porto/Post/Doc - Film & Media Festival, being the programmer and coordinator of its educational program. She graduated in Cinema and Audiovisual by Escola Superior Artística do Porto in 2018, completed a training in Documentary Cinema by Instituto de Produção Cultural e Imagem in 2019, and got her Master 's Degree in Cinema by Universidade da Beira Interior in 2021.
