Mariana Gaivão
(Portugal)

Marina Gaivão (1984, Portugal) was born and educated in Lisbon. She studied Photography at ArCo and Directing at the National Conservatorium. She began her career as an editor, having worked with several renowned Portuguese filmmakers. Her first short film, Solo, was awarded Best Short Film at the Montreal Film Festival. Gaivão also holds a position as a programmer at Queer Lisboa and she has taught Directing at the School of Innovation and Creation Technologies.
