Phuttiphong Aroonpheng
(Thailand)

Phuttiphong Aroonpheng, born in 1976, studied visual arts at Silpakorn University in Bangkok. His short films have been screened at festivals such as Busan, Rotterdam, Hamburg and Singapore. His 2015 short film, Ferris Wheel, has been shown at over twenty festivals and received ten awards. He attended the Asian Film Academy in Busan in 2009 and was also honored as an Asian Public Intellectual by the Nippon Foundation. He was also director of photography for the following films: Vanishing Point by Jakrawal Nilthamrong, The Island Funeral by Pimpaka Towira, and Dolphines by Waleed Al-Shehhi. Manta Ray is his first feature film.
