Billie Mintz
(United States)

Billie's life is a series of wild tales that are mostly true. Among his many talents, he is an ordained minister of deliverance and was trained in shamanism by an old Incan medicine man from Peru. Most notably, he is an award-winning documentary filmmaker who also happened to be rejected from every film school he ever applied to. Serving two seasons as a National Geographic correspondent for the show Explorer and a long-time advocate for social justice, Billie believes in the power of story to raise consciousness and inspire policy change. is powered by Doc Alliance, a creative partnership of 7 key European documentary film festivals. Our aim is to advance the documentary genre, support its diversity and promote quality creative documentary films.
