Ben Lawrence is an internationally awarded film director and photographer, with over 20 years experience across TV commercials, music clips, short films, factual TV, feature films & feature documentary.
His TV commercial work has been recognised at every major international award show. Including Cannes Lions, D&AD, One Show, Mobius, New York Festivals, London Advertising Awards, Sharks, AWARD, ADG, AICP and was the first Australian to be awarded a Clio for TVC direction. His AICP award also saw his work permanently housed in the Museum of Modern Art, NY.
His short films have screened at Edinburgh, Clermont-Ferrand, Los Angeles, San Gio and Sao Paulo film festivals.
With several solo exhibitions, his photography has been recognised at the International Photography Awards, New York the Spider Awards for photojournalism in London and the Australian National Photographic Portrait Prize.
His debut feature documentary, Ghosthunter had its world premiere at the 2018 Sydney Film Festival, where it won best documentary. It was also nominated for 4 AACTA’s, including best documentary and went on to screen in competition at several international film festivals including the prestigious Illuminate Award at Sheffield Docfest in 2018.
In 2019 he made his debut feature Hearts and Bones starring Hugo Weaving.
