Lidija Burčak
(Switzerland)

Lidija Burčak is a writer and director. She studied Visual Anthropology at Goldsmiths University, London. Her graduation film BROKEN SKIN was nominated for the Grierson Award 2019. In this work she combines her own and other peoples’ experiences of psoriasis. Intimacy is a leitmotif in her practice. Her work is mostly autobiographical and diary-like, meaning that it is led by intuition, instant emotions and a strong sense of storytelling. Her visual practice is playful, includes experiment and coincidence, trial and error. Her parents are from the former Yugoslavia. She was born and raised in Switzerland where she also works as a script supervisor for feature films.
