Maracaibo, Venezuela, 1986. Film director and screen writer, Graduated from the Escuela Internacional de Cine y TV, San Antonio de Los Baños, Cuba (EICTV). Also very closely related to theater and photography. He is passionate about experimenting with various genres and cinematographic forms, leading him to make hybrid films, fictions, documentaries and experimental. Strongly motivated by topics that reflect on the origin of humanity, as well as social and political problems that plague us today.
He participated in the Berlinale Talents 2020 as director. He has had international projection with his short films that have participated in different festivals such as: Huesca International Film Festival, Havana International Film Festival, Dresden International Film Festival, among others.
His first feature film, La Imagen del Tiempo (Timeless Havana), (Cuba-Dominican Republic-Italy-Venezuela) had its premiere as part of the official selection at the FIDMarseille 2019 (winner of the Prix des Lycées award), He was also part of the official selection at the Kokalta international Film Festival 2019, India, among other international festivals.
Jeissy is currently working on the postproduction of JOKO & PUTRA (short documentary film), filmed in Indonesia, and I Suoni del tempo (short fiction film), co-produced with Aamod (Italy) as part of the Zavattini Award Program for the development of archive films. On the other hand, he is developing the documentary feature film The Language of Water, and the fiction feature film Jepirra, the Paradise.
