Born in Belgrade, Iva Radivojević spent her early years in Yugoslavia, Cyprus and NYC. She’s an artist currently living between Athens and Lesbos. Her work presents itself as a collection of fragments {observations, poetry, images, sounds, melodies, languages} that collage together into a ruminating whole. It circles around displacement and belonging, seeking to connect to the metaphysical, the magical. Iva's films have screened at the New York Film Festival, ND/NF, Rotterdam IFF, CPH:DOX, Jeonju IFF, DocLisboa, MoMA (NYC), and were commissioned by ARTE La Lucarne, Field of Vision, Thessaloniki Biennale of Contemporary Art. She’s the recipient of the Sundance Art of Non-Fiction Fellowship, Guggenheim Fellowship, NYFA Fellowship, Princess Grace Award and Film Fellowship. Signatures, or the Bass Line of a Freighter Ship, her chapbook of poems was published by Bottlecap Press. An upcoming book, Avenue of The Living, is being published by Big Black Mountain press.
