Kang-chien CHIU
(Taiwan)

CHIU Kang-chien, born in 1940, was a renowned screenwriter in Chinese-language cinema. Together with CHUANG Ling and HUANG Hua-cheng, he co-founded the magazine Theatre Quarterly in 1965. In the 1970s he began working in Hong Kong, writing screenplays for many films and winning multiple awards. He also directed a few films. CHIU passed away in Beijing in 2013.
