Angie Obeid
(Lebanon)

Born in Beirut, Angie Obeid obtained a BA in Film Directing from NDU-Lebanon (2010) and a MA in Documentary Filmmaking from DOC NOMADS - Portugal, Hungary, and Belgium (2018). Since 2009, she has been working as producer, director, and editor on several documentaries. Her first independent feature-length documentary, I Used to Sleep on the Rooftop (2017), won a Special Mention at FIDMarseille and has been screened at several festivals worldwide. Her short documentary PACIFIC (2019) has also been screened at various festivals, including Visions du Réel and Hot Docs, and won five awards. Currently, Angie is working on her second feature-length documentary, Yalla, Baba!. After ten years of experience as an executive and freelance producer, Angie founded her independent production company, Thereness Films. Through this company, she aims to develop, produce, and co-produce films with passionate stories and strong artistic approaches.
