'My street' follows the story of a simple working-class family, the Furmanczyks. For generations they have lived and worked in the city of Lodz, in Poland, in the factory that once made this city 'the promised Land', the textile capital of Europe. After the downfall of communism, the members of the family lost their jobs and their place on earth. Now, a French investment group is renovating the ruins of the factory, to open the largest commercial mall in Central Europe. Over the course of 5 years, the director followed the lives of those simple people, witnessing right beneath their windows the changes of modern Europe, and about their struggle to keep their dignity and to find their place in a changing world.
