On 8 March 1979, protests by Iranian women against the suppression of their rights by the religious regime reached a climax on the streets of Tehran. Apart from a few minutes’ footage from the documentary Iranian Women’s Liberation Movement: Year Zero (1979), no video recordings of this historic event have survived. What cannot be erased, however, are the memories of those who took part first-hand.
