The outré imagination of German New Wave visionary Ulrike Ottinger is on dazzling display in this alcohol-soaked tour through the Berlin underworld. A rich, unnamed, enigmatic woman (Ottinger regular Tabea Blumenschein) embarks on a single-minded quest to drink her way into oblivion, downing seemingly endless cognacs in eye-popping couture as she passes through a carnivalesque Berlin populated by rockers, punks, writers, artists, taxi drivers, and fellow drunks.
