After the 2014 coup d’état in Thailand, 400 citizens associated with political activism were summoned by the Junta, and many more were accused. Writer-activist Wat Wanlayangkool was among those summoned, but he decided not to report himself but fly away from the country.
Wat was getting around to his life as a refugee in Laos, cherishing the best living condition he could get despite all limitations. He planned to spend his life there as a long-term refugee and even bought land to build a house.
However, the ones being affected by his refuge are his family members. Their home has transformed into a faraway concept. To keep waiting for each part of their home to reunite, they need hope and patience.
