Hungary 2018 is a political observational documentary about the main stream right-wing extremism and rising populism in Hungary on the government level. An independent documentary with no Hungarian state funding by the creators of the multi-award winner documentary Judgment in Hungary directed by Eszter Hajdú.
The only independent crew following Viktor Orbán's government's campaign in 2017 and 2018 was led by Hungarian filmmaker Eszter Hajdú. In these events the representatives of Orbán's government (campaigners, high position ministers, deputy prime-minister etc.) are using an agressive homophobic, anti-imigrant, anti-semitic, islamophobic, anti-European, anti-Western and Pro-Putin rhetorics.
Eszter Hajdú had exclusive access to campaign and personal life of the former-prime minister, Ferenc Gyurcsány's in his election battle against the far-right Orbán. He is the strongest opponent of Orbán in Hungary, a colorful and passionate liberal-democrat fighting against Orbán's regime. Majority of Eszter Hajdú's film crew did not want their name to appear in the ending credits because they are afraid of the regime, they want to stay anonymous.
