Dolni Tsibar is a big village in the north-western Bulgaria, statistically one of the most impoverished area of the European Union. Ninety-nine percent of the villagers who live in the area are Romani. The desire of many of the people in the area to educate themselves has seen the media ironically call the village the Roma of Cambridge. The film traces the village over the course of a year.
