The third-generation butcher’s shop Monaco is an institution in Alexandria, Egypt. But the recent swine flu outbreak has slowed business. In a perpetually tense political climate, the butcher’s shop becomes an indicator of a society divided by its many religions. Without being obvious, Dominique Fleury constructs the mosaic of a comedy of manners tragic in nature.
