While Jacek Bławut (the well-known documentary film director and producer) was filming first feature “Before Twilight” on location in Skolimów at the home for retired actors there was another camera on the set. It recorded the actors waiting to enter the set, which resulted in an affectionate film, full of subtle humour, about waiting. The film characters have different ways of coping with the fact that they are no longer present on stage or on the screen. They are the very cream of Polish post-war film and theatre production. From subtle observations, Tomasz Wolski composes a showpiece about age and art.
