The City With a Dirty Face is a portrait of a people isolated from society both physically and mentally by the demise and fall of the Soviet Union.

The people of Karosta, Western Latvia, have lived through times of lawlessness and chaos, forging their own lives amongst the madness.

The documentary covers many contemporary social issues, including prejudice, isolation and the fear of the unknown. This personal and intriguing story is told by the people of Karosta in their own words.
