Amy Wong
(Canada)

Amy Wong is a filmmaker and journalist originating from Canada. Her short film BRIDGE 5 (2011), a wordless portrait about a poor Roman man who lives on a bridge, was selected at the Visions du Réel competition in Nyon, Switzerland.

Before moving to Geneva in 2007, where she now resides, she covered stories about arts, identity, eco-innovations and politics as a video journalist for the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation. She is presently a journalist for the Swiss Broadcasting Corportation (SRG SSR idée suisse), and has recently completed her Master of Fine Arts in Cinema at the University of Fine Arts in Western Switzerland (HES-SO / ECAL/HEAD).

Her future projects include a personal documentary about the search for her family in North Korea (NORTH SOUTH), and a docudrama surrounding the European Union's economic crisis (MONEY PROBLEMS). She also plans to start work on a fictional murder mystery on a garden plot (THE PLOT).
