Zohar Wagner

Zohar Wagner was born in Israel in 1970. She is a documentary filmmaker, performance artist, poet and film critic.

Zohar first studied Film and Philosophy studies in New York in 1991-1993 and later she continued to study at Tel Aviv University where she received two B.A. degrees.

Since 1999 until present, Zohar Wagner is directing documentary films and documentary and investigative series for the Israeli Television. Since 2005 Zohar Wagner is leading a Rock band, Zohar Wagner and the Stinkies. The album Zohar Wagner and the Stinkies was chosen by Israeli leading singer Assaf Amdursky as Best Album of the Year 2008.

In her works she explores female sexuality, the balance of power between men and women and her last film focuses on themes of sexual exploitation. Wagner is also a sought-after lecturer and orator on the topic of women's empowerment.
