The main character of the story is a ten-year-old boy named Thomas, who is the narrator, cameraman and director of the film. He receives a video camera for his birthday and decides to shoot a movie in similar style to Miloš Forman. In this deeply humanist story the viewer is invited into the directors family setting: meeting his mother, father, grandmother, school, and friends. While presenting a seemingly cosy narrative of domestic life the film attempts to uncover the father’s carefully hidden secret. Thomas suspects his father is seeing another woman and decides to do everything possible to prevent his father from leaving the family. The audience sees the story unfold through the eyes of an innocent child, with typical childlike honesty and heart-warming humour. In the end, how Thomas manages to unveil a big family secret that will shock and move the audience.
